The Mariners are excited to announce the commitment of 02-born defenseman Cole McGuire for the 2023-24 season. The Belleville, Ontario product posted 30 points (5G, 25A) in 49 games played with the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL. Previously, Cole spent 4 seasons with the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL, playing over 80 games.
On the signing, Cole had this to say:
"I’m very excited to head out west to VIU. I found it was the best place for my education and athletics to get to the next level and achieve my goals. I’m thrilled to see the most beautiful part of the country and be a Mariner!"
