The Mariners are excited to announce the signing of 04-born forward Blake Power for the 2023-24 season. The Port Alberni product spent the last 2 seasons with the Port Alberni Bombers of the VIJHL. He posted 64 points (21G, 43A) in 80 games with the Bombers, and also spent some time in the BCHL with the Nanaimo Clippers.
On the signing, Blake had this to say:
"After hearing so many great things about the VIU program and having an opportunity for me to play and continue my education it was the obvious choice for me. I can’t wait to get to Nanaimo and get things going!"
